Perfect Blend Of Indian Art, Culture And Nature

Bandhavgarh - Panna - Khajuraho

The Indian state of Madhya Pradesh in Central India is known as the ‘Tiger State’, as it holds some of India’s most celebrated tiger reserves. Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, along with  Ranthambore National Park in the northwest, are probably the most filmed jungles in the country owing to their illustrious history of tigers. A land where tiger dynasties have propelled, Bandhavgarh is right up there when it comes to the striped feline.

Just north of Bandhavgarh lies the Panna Tiger Reserve, a wilderness that had once fallen prey to the illicit poaching of tigers and the big cat was wiped out entirely, but now, thanks to great relocation efforts tigers are regaining their lost ground. The Panna landscape however has much more to offer than just the tiger. As many as six different species of vultures are found here and its rocky terrain is truly a habitat worth experiencing.

Adjacent to Panna are the famous Khajuraho temples. These temples, very famous for their Nagara-style architecture and erotic sculptures are one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India. The whole area is spread across 6 sq.kms, comprising of 25 temples, however it is said that when the Chandela dynasty built these temples in the 12th Century there were a whopping 85 temples spread across 25 sq.kms.
