UMRED KARHANDLA WLS

Situated in the Nagpur & Bhandara district of the Indian state of Maharashtra, Umred is home to many mammals, birds & reptiles.  The arrival of one of Maharahstra’s famous tigers, Jay, led to the park gaining deserved popularity. The fact that this tiger who was once a resident of Nagzira, travelled all the way through human settlements and the mighty Wainganga river to find his peace in Umred had thrilled the wildlife experts across the country and his legacy still continues in the park.

 

BOR Tiger Reserve

Declared as a Tiger Reserve in 2014, Bor is situated in the Wardha District in Maharashtra, and archaeological remains reveal the existence of a seat of power here in the beginning of the 1st century. The ecozone of the area is dry deciduous forest which boasts various species of mammals besides the tiger, approx. 160 species of birds and 26 species of reptiles.
