Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) is second to none when it comes to the striped feline and hence it is a favourite destination for every wildlife fanatic. Maharashtra's oldest and largest national park, having area of 1,727 sq.km. (which includes Tadoba National Park, created in 1955), TATR is home to numerous species other than the king of Indian jungles, including a wide variety of water birds and raptors, thought to be up to 195 species. In order for this diverse fauna to survive, TATR too houses equivalent flora, where Palas or ‘flame of the forest’ adds vibrant colour to the jungle. This wilderness in Central India is one of the key strong holds for Indian wildlife.
