Bandipur - Kabini - Wayanad - Mudumalai
The trio of Waynad, known for its Elephants, Bandipur for its Indian bison (or Gaur) and Kabini for its large population of leopards, and more so for the melanistic leopard commonly known as the black panther, are three places every wildlife lover must experience at least once in their lives. A set of close knit forests these jungles in the Western Ghats are a great hotspot for research and discoveries especially when it comes to reptiles and amphibians.
These forests attract only the most genuine nature lovers as the dense woods can minimise your changes of an animal sighting, but if and when you do see a leopard or a tiger, the experience is priceless. These thick forests are an ideal habitat for a diverse set of fauna, with the sun’s rays barely making it to the ground, this makes it one of the greatest jungle experiences for any visitor.
